I have read a ton of posts in this forum regarding problems with AC97 soundcards, and I have tried a lot of different drivers - Realtek, C-Media, nothing seems to work. I've done google searches, basically I can't figure out what to do next - I'm sure its not a hardware problem. It's enabled in the BIOS (and its definately an AC97 as it says so in the bios), volume controls are all up to full, I'm sure its just a matter of finding the right driver.
I have typed in the motherboard type (ms6526) and found a site which listed all the drivers for it (realtek), I have tried these drivers and had no luck - still no sound.
Anyway, its a Elonex branded motherboard/bios if that helps, here's the Belarc stats, I would really, really appreciate it if someone could work their magic and help me out with the correct driver....
