Driver for canoscan lide 50

just reformatted my hard drive and am having much difficulty getting my scanner (canoscan lide 50) up and running. I have downloaded the driver from the canon site (I don't have the original disk) and just can't seem to get it to jive. Heare is what I've done: downloaded driver and "toolbox" to my desktop, opened them. Plugged in scanner to USB. All I get is a message "cannot find software". Please help (step by step like I'm a five year old). Thanks much! -John

This is the site for you drivers, it appears you need 3, you need the Scangear CS( 7.1.3.4x ) file as well. This allows your scanner to communicate with the computer. http://software.canon-europe.com/Sca...LiDE_50467.asp
usally all software is installed before plugging in the device. To install double click the file and follow instructions.
