sound problem

hi. i've problem with my sound card. after the installation of xp profesional with sp2 and dx 9c there is no sound from my sound card. my motherboard is biostar m7tdb (intel 845 chipset) with integrated sound card (i believe it's crystal ac 97). i do not have my own drivers either to the motherboard or to sound card and i couldn't find any on biostar web (most propably because it's quite old device). i tried to install drivers for intel (intel inf 700) and drivers for similiar board - biostar m7 tdf (avance 510 ...xp) as it was written that m7tdb also uses this drivers. the effec is that there is intel 82801ba/bam ac 97 in my system and there is no sound :/ please help my because i don't know what to do now and i have been trying to solve this problem for 3 days.
with best regards.

This is the board drivers http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdownloads.asp?model=m7tdb

Download the audio driver and install this way as if No Setup file available , by updateing the intel 82801ba/bam ac 97

Installing Drivers

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

If no Setup file

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio device Realtek, Soundmax etc ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

ok. i did what you advised and now the situation is that there is still no sound :/ and in the control panel a yellow "!" appeared (there was something about "code 10"). what a noticed is that when i first installed audio drivers from biostar,in the update wizard there was also avance ac 97 driver (device) which i could choose. when i installed intel drivers and than audio drivers there was no avance ac 97 driver (only simple "audio driver") - maybe this notice will be helpful :I what can i do now?

Get Everest, copy and paste the Computer / Summary section
http://www.softpedia.com/progDownloa...oad-16369.html

Do you know the make and model of your comp, and are your audio plugs on the I/o Plate where the keyboard and mouse sockets are in this example he's pointing to the I/O plate http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQzgQ39ovZY
