The only driver I can find at Asus is for Win 2000, what make and model is your comp, this is the driver, not sure it will work on XP http://support.asus.com.tw/download/...Language=en-us

You have a sound card installed if plugs are not on the I/O plate, the onboard audio will not work, can you take the side off the comp and see what card you have installed.

hey I'm having sound issues with my pc, read a few post in this thread, hope I can be helped.

after I uninstalled an itunes plugin my sound stopped working, and my pc indicates a lack of a pci drive.
I've tried everything from reinstalling realtek several times, but nothing works. Checked services but everything is ok. so I have no idea what to do now

I already tried all those drivers though, no idea what was wrong.
But you post did give me an idea. I always thought that you had to set a restore point manually, but apparently my pc sets a restore point automatically everyday. so I just restored to the day before the problem occured. THNX!

I'm having problems with my audio drivers for Intel Chipset 845GEV. It's a AC 97 Audio Controller ICH4 B0. The problem is I can't detect my motherboard manufacturer with Sandra, Everest or anything else.

Is there any solution to my problem here?
