My sound device doesn't seem to be working properly. Here are the specs

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a Restore point and follow instructions

re: hp pavilion dv6420ew sound driver for xp missing

I've installed new microsoft UAA bus driver for hdaudio, restarted system (in device manager no changes after this update), tried install drivers from hp (sp34204.exe), but no success. Yellow exclamation mark by "PCI device" still exist Force install not passed. Its the only driver i couldnt get... The same on fresh instalation windows xp... Is there any solution for make audio work on this operating system on my laptop?

try this driver, it's for a different model, but the same chipset

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a
Restore point and follow instructions

searching for audio controller

Hi, i seem to be having the same problem as most here, but can't find the audio controller for the life of me! Any help would be appreciated

Thank You much for very fast answer Barbara. Unfortunately neither of these drivers wont suit to my audio in windows xp. It is possible that there is no proper xp driver for this laptop? I dont have any idea yet, and i am starting to lose hope...
