check this to see if Soundmax is set as default audio
Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be they something like "modem line 0 playback" might have been substituted for the proper audio device

Thanks, Barbara. I downloaded installed the driver as per your instruction. Still no sound & I still have yellow mark on Other device in Device Manager.
I couldn't restore as I am running Windows 2000 not XP.
Still in need of HELP!!

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Sorry, I asked you to choose Win XP instead Win 2K - go back to Toshiba and select Win 2K OS, it is a different version of the audio driver
