Exclamation Nvidia Driver Problems

I dowloaded a new driver for my video card (Nvidia Gefore FX 5200). Everything went well in the installation, but after I restarted my computer my color quality cannot go above 4 bit.
A little message popped up saying: "Do you want Windows to automatically correct your screen and color depth settings?". I clicked on the 'yes' button, but nothing happened.
After another restart, my color quality still remains the same and the message pops up again. Nothing happens no matter how many times I restart.
I tried both re-downloading the driver from the site and re-installing it, but nothing helped.

Please help !!

I checked on my computer now again.
My screen was black & white with horizontal stripes all over it. Every time I moved my cursor my screen blackens for a moment and then returns. I removed my driver from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
After another restart my screen's back to normal, with regular color-quality.
Why is my computer reacting to the driver this way? And how can I fix it? Thanks in advance.

Hi, you had an incompatible driver installed. What is the make and model of your PC and where did you get the driver from. New drivers don't always mean better performabce.

It's not a specific model really, it's made out of all sorts of parts. And I got the driver from Nvidia's offical site.

If you mean the make and model of my motherboard, then it's MSI PT880 Neo-SR (MS-7008).
Also, my computer operating system is Windows XP Pro.

Did you try a driver rollback? http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...s/ivascu1.mspx
