Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

Then go here to Toshiba http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...ngdgnj.0&ct=DL

it's a realtek AC'97 it's a zip file, you will have to unzip, save where you can find, then double click the setup.exe file.

This from Realtek ( easier to install ) http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True

download the (Excution file) save to desktop, double click to install

The site can be slow
Hope this helps

Hopefully this is now enough!?

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

This is the link to the EVO D300 as you can see 2 drivers offered, both ADI, I'm not sure which you need, try them one at a time http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...e/63_2510.html

Hope this helps

Then go here to Toshiba http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...ngdgnj.0&ct=DL

it's a realtek AC'97 it's a zip file, you will have to unzip, save where you can find, then double click the setup.exe file.

This from Realtek ( easier to install ) http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True

download the (Excution file) save to desktop, double click to install

The site can be slow
Hope this helps

Hey, i think i have the same problems as every one else here... no sound is coming out of my headphones and when i go to play a song etc on windows media player this comes up - "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."

i know i have to download something but im not sure what it is, and ive been trying everything to fix it but nothing seems to work ]=

Unhappy Long Running Audio Issues

Hi,

I am new here and I was wondering if anyone can help me resolve this long running problem that has been plaguing my Dell Precision laptop.
The Sound sometimes works and and other times it doesnt. The volume thing at the bottom right on the taskbar doesnt appear and when I check it out it says that the device did not start properly. There must be some driver issues or something. I cant resolve it. I have tried to follow some of the other instructions on this site and it hasnt worked. Anyway my sound controller was originally Intel(R) 82801BA/BAM AC'97 Audio Controller but I have done something to it now (by following instructions on this site) and now its Crystal WDM Audio Codec or something. As you can tell I aint good at this IT stuff so all help would be greatfully appreciated!

Heres my specs off Belarc Advisor.
