Packard Bell Audio Driver Problem - HELP!

Hi folks.
I recently had to wipe and reload my o/s owing to a virus. On reloading XP onto the machine, I find no audio devices working. My motherboard is an NEC ms 6786, and the audio device is a unimodem half duplex audio device.

Can anyone advise on where I can obtain the driver for this, so that I can get sounds from the pc again?

Thanks to any who choose to answer and can assist with this!

Hi Barbara. Thank you for getting back to me. I went to the packard site and downloaded/installed the file you mention. On doing a reboot I find the sound system is still not enabled. Any ideas?

Update the chipset drivers from here http://support.packardbell.com/uk/my...oryId=108#show

install and install the Audio driver again

Create a System Restore Point just in case

Hope this helps

Hi Barbara. The driver is working now, but I do have one other problem thats manifested itself. I no longer get any sounds from my isp for emails, being on aol, and also using messenger service like yahoo. Any ideas why that would be?
