Bit of a hunt, this is the link to P C Partner motherboard drivers
http://www.pcpartner.com/download.php?category_id=

Chipset Type - choose Via P4X266A(P4X266A/VT8233) - GO - 4 boards shown all have same audio, choose first in list - click Detail and there is audio

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps

Bookworm, it looks like you've helped MANY people here and I am in need of help as well. A few days ago my computer quit playing sound and for the last few days I've been giving myself headaches trying to fix it through uninstalling, reinstalling, troubleshooting and asking advice but nothing has helped. I keep getting "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver." So I try to Reinstall Driver but it just says the wizard cannot find the necessary software. I've downloaded various things to update and reinstall the driver but to be honest I'm not sure what I'm doing. I'd be SO VERY appreciative if you could help me. Here's my info:
