I love my music on my computer!! I miss it!!

Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

lack of sound

Hi,

I just reformatted my computer and like so many others, have no sound, along with a error message that pops up whenever i tried to play music throw Windows Media Play as well as iTunes.

I went to the Add Hardware Wizard through the control panel and there are yellow question marks next to

PCI Memory Controller,
Multimedia Audio Controller,
Other PCI Bridge Device,
SM Bus Controller,
Video Controller,
Unknown,
and
Unknown.

I have run the hardware wizard on the majority of these and it says the wizard cannot find the necessary software to install the driver. It asks if I have a cd for it, but that is exactly what I'm lacking for all of these. I bought this computer a while back from someone on craigslist, after deciding it was safe after the proper diagnostic tests. Apparently I didn't receive the proper cd's with this.

I also forgot to mention that whenever i scroll down on a page, the graphics layout is very choppy, and takes a good second to resettle, which is a new problem being that my computer ran very smoothly before i reformatted it this morning.

My Belarc profile can be found at

file:///C:/Program%20Files/Belarc/Advisor/System/tmp/(Coltonmu-66a36e).html

(I tried to paste in here, but it was a jumbled mess.)

Thanks a bunch.

Cool

I purchased an Ei-Sytem PC with a Foxconn motherboard loaded with Windows Vista. Due to startup and configuration issues I have removed Vista and loaded Windows XP. Now, however, we have no sound from our computer and I cannot find which driver to load to allow sound to work The motherboard has an integrated sound card and I require information to allow me to find the correct driver.

The motherboard is a Foxconn N15235. Serial numbers on the board are

UYJM70107103 PCP4M9007MB8RS2H

020106Q00-001G

Can you advise which driver to load?

regards, Drew

Manufacturer: Realtek

Location: PCI bus 0, device 17, function 5

Device Status: Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.
The driver may be corrupted or missing (Code 39)

Heres more info on my PC hope these would help:

Audio - The ALC655 is compliant w/ AC'97 2.3 specifications and supports multiple CODEC.

please really need help here!.. thanks....

You have onboard audio and a PCI audio card installed, you can only have one, Win XP does not know ehich to use. With a sound card installed the onboard audio ( Realtek ) will be disabled. What is showing here

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Your audio plugs must be on the I/O plate for this driver to work, if you use an expansion slot then you have a Sound Card installed, see here, click the image to focus
http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

Your Intel board D915GAG has Realtek HD audio go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

The site is slow

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
