No sound after reformatting XP Home

No sound either
I have no Idea what is going on, I reformatted my hard drive with windows xp and now my sound doesn't work, I read all of the threads before this one and I don't know how they got the printout of there system? Could some one please help me out, I'm stuck. Thank you.

Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

no sound
i just installed windows xp pro and im getting no sounds after all updates. ive read through these forums for about an hour but im still stuck!! i hope u can help me.

choose one of the mirror sites
download, save to desktop , double click to install
Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

deleted sound controller
I think I accidently uninstalled my sound controller! now there is no sound facility on my Sony laptop, does anyone know how I can re-install this? When I try to uses Windows Media Player I get the Error code C00D11BA. Thanks.

Need the make and model or Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.

all commands use the keyboard, arrow keys to navigate.
As soon as comp boots press the F2 key
select Advanced menu
Integrated Peripherals - press Enter

HD Audio Controller should be set to Auto if not select and use the + key to change
Press F10 key to save & Exit
y to accept changes
comp will load XP

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.

which audio driver?
i have installed the nforce driver. whcih it said was an older one then already installed. i have just checked device manager and have the yellow question mark over ms kernal dls synthesizer(no idea what it is) and ms uaa bus driver for high definiton audio
