at this point not sure, if you have a XP disc try a System File Check

go to Run - type "sfc /scannow" (without the quotes and note the space after sfc) - have the xp disc available in case sfc needs to repair or replace any files, it will run but give no alerts.

Same problem, with HP pavilion 751n

To follow suite, I got a belarc advisor report. I went to the HP website and dowloaded the recommended driver for "Mulitimedia Audio Control" with no luck.

In device manager both Multimedia Audio Control and video controller show up as yellow question marks and say they have no drivers installed.

I thought I was farely computer savvy until this little problem through me for a loop.

Says that the soundcard driver is operating, but the speakers will not play any sound. I tested them on a laptop and the speakers themselves seem to work fine.

Here is a copy/paste of the Belarc report. PLEASE HELP!!!!

[quote=ligitiluke]Same problem, with HP pavilion 751n
