No sounds -.-

Hey, i recently got a virus attack and re-installed Windows XP Professional Service pack 2.

Now everything seems to running fine although i have no sound. After countless of forum searches including this one it still doesnt work. I tried to Install realtek AC/97 etc and it's just not happening lol. So can you wonderful people help a poor guy out!

Here are some details that you will require.

Motherboard ID 02/04/2004-KT400-8235-MS8167CC-00
Motherboard Name Matsonic MS8167C

Sound:
VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller PCI

I've tried nearly everything and i get the same crap "No audio device".. Its quite frustrating... please help

That board appears to have C-Media CMI9738 audio, try this one
http://drivers.softpedia.com/progDow...load-2594.html

Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

check this to see if Realtek HD audio is set as default

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be they something like "modem line 0 playback" might have been substituted for the proper audio device

Iv'e a good idea what the problem is, but can you get Belarc, copy and paste the report but leave out the win update section and the Software Licence section it gives your Win Product code
