Hi,i ave prob with sound too and am tryin to solve that for a last 5 days but nothin so i hope u can help me plz...

Restart your computer, upon reboot repeativly press F2 to access the BIOS Setup Utility, go to the Advanced tab, go to Onboard Devices Cofiguration, then make sure your Onboard Audio Controller is turned ON or AUTO.

You have to Save the file on your computer, say the Desktop to Download any of the Drivers, I would also try the J88MG Motherboard BIOS on the bottom of the page

Set a System Restore Point before installing each driver just in case


First download the Chipset Driver : Intel Chipset Driver 5.0
save on your system where you can find it, it's infinst_enu.exe , to install go to where you saved and double click to install.
Then Restart your computer

Second download the Audio Driver, again save to where you can find it, then to install double click to install, this is a zip file.

What happens when you try the download, I had no problems, did you get the chipset driver ok.

Yup,am download and instal chipset drivers without probs.
When am try download audio drivers it open new window(empty) and nothing.Just stoped.Ill try to shut all popup etc blockers first...

I see that a C-Media AC'97 is shown, just a thought, can you check Win Updates site, choose Custom install and see if under Drivers any drivers are listed, see if one is shown for C-Media, Realtel do a ALC202A sound driver but Acer show a driver for Intel ICH5 Controller, I can download the driver from the Acer download but it does not say what the driver is. Have you installed a separate sound card or is your system as it came from factory.

was'nt too sure about the Acer driver, but Realtek have the ALC202A driver, and this is it

Don't forget the Restore Point
