Can't find right sound driver Please Help!!!

Hi

I recently reinstalled windows because of a crash and my sound doesnt work, I'm running WINDOWS XP PRO SP2. It's a Onboard sound card, The Motherboard is P6VAP-A+ (comes up as P6VAP-AP on start-up)

It says its a Built-in PCI 3d sound CMI 8738 in my user manual and I have downloaded the XP drivers (Driverguide.com, sound-drivers.com) but I get a blue error screen and have to reboot

The drivers I do have on the disk that came with the computer
CMI8X38 Folder Installation Notes are for 95/98/NT 4.0 and 2000

Any help would be really appreciated

If it is an ECS board go here to get the sound driver
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloa...nuID=0&LanID=9
Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
