Ive read as many previous posts as i can, still confused over Driver Issue

Hi,

I'll cut to the chase. I updated via MSI Live monitoring 2 weeks ago...BIOS stuff etc and since then have no sound. I make no attempt at any illusions that i know computer stuff - i dont. I just do my updates etc that i presumed i was supposed to do. I have read previous posts to at least understand what's happened, but i cant find one that fits what i've done. I realise you seem to say to everyone to re load drivers...im not sure which one i need. Ive downloaded My Driver and with that, it also cannot update the driver.

I've pasted Belarc Advisor for your info and would really appreciate any advise as to how badly ive stuffed up! lol

Cheers Di

oops

I should add to the above,

Have attempted to rollback the drivers, have xp install them...with no success. I also went to the MSI Update site, couldn't even find the product which had been updated. AAAARRRGGGGHHHH I'd just like the sound back, so I can listen to a bit of music...
I've also had a friend give me remote assistance, and he did almost exactly what I did...and still no luck. Am I destined to march back to pc store and have them fix it?
cheers

Your motherboard is a MSI RS480M2 coded MS-7093 this is the link to all motherboard drivers http://www.msi.com.tw/program/suppor...UID=639&kind=1

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

Your audio is Realtek ALC658, go here to Realtek to get driver http://w3serv.realtek.com.tw/downloa...&Software=True

the site can be very slow to download

Hope this helps

Talking Thank You

Barbara,

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Although advice given didn't fix the problem, it certainly put me in the best direction to fix it myself.

My kids thank you....lol... Mum's not walking round with angry face.., she gets her own 'time out' back again, listenin to a bit of music ...lol.

Cheers

System: Microsoft XP - Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2

Computer: Intel (R)
Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.20 GHz, 3,19 GHz, 1,00 GB RAM

Was it that you meant?
Thanks!

Not really, I meant who is the maker of your computer,eg: HP, Compac Dell look for a sticker on your tower it should give you the maker, model and serial number

Cheers
