PCI could mean you have a sound card installed, this driver is for onbboard audio for your model, it's Realtek HD go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs

Your audio plugs must be on the I/O plate for this driver to work, if you use an expansion slot then you have a Sound Card installed, see here, click the image to focus
http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

The site is slow

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

GRr.

alright, so I installed the Realtek HD audio like you said, and all these "Microsoft Audio" drivers cam up. My sound still doesn't work!

Here's a picture of what I look at with the show hidden drivers option on. I was confused on why there were double drivers...

It looks as if my Audio Codecs vanished too...

Check this to see if Realtek is the default audio

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Modem is still the only one listed...

Is there a way I can maybe re-install all the drivers for sound without re-installing windows? If I could, maybe that will fix my problem.

EDIT: After looking at the picture, My Microphone Jack has been recognized!!! Thats a step...

Check Device Manager / expand Systems / is the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture installed

go here to Intel http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21
No:2 Inf Update - install then restart your comp, install audio again.

check this out first

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot.

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Hey Bookworm, I downloaded those drivers but still no sound. I went to the Computer Management Window and it says under Audio Devices that the Unimodem audio device is working properly but there is a big yellow exclamation mark under 'Multimedia Audio Controller' under 'Other Devices'. Any idea what that means??

Are your audio plugs on the I/O plate or in a expansion slot, see here, click image to focus
