Help please no sound

Can someone please help me get my sound back on when I tried to turn the volume up a message came up saying there are no active mixer devices avaiable to install go to control panel click printers and other hardware then click add new hardware tried it but when it got to the add new hardware screen there was 2 different things one was SiS 7018 Audio driver beside it...it had a picture of a speaker with a yellow ! so I clicked on it to install it said this device could not start code 10.. the other device is Multimedia Audio controller with a yellow question mark by it so I tried to install it also then again it had a message saying drivers for this device are not installed code 28 so which one do I need for my sound and how do I get the driver for it also what information do you need about my computer and how do I get that.. All I know is the following info now..

This all started when I had to reinstall Windows Xp and I do not have a back up disk........

Seems its onboard sound, so, go to bios and enable your sound card.

If it is enabled, disable it, loads in to windows, give it a few mins, turn off, enable in bios again, and load bios defaults.

Download drivers, and flash your bios also.
