Sound problems with HP T3040.uk

Hi, I recently formatted the harddrive of my T3040.uk thinking that i had made recovery disks in the past. Unfortuneatly, these disks were never created, and i am now left with no sound on my pc.
The onboard soundcard is a "Realtek ALC658C"
I downloaded the driver from the Realtek website but this lead to no success.
Can anyone help me?

Checked the specs on HP you have Realtek ALC880 HD audio, not the AC'97 audio, go here to Realtek for driver http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20CODECs

Download the (Excution file) save to desktop, then double click to install.
The site can be slow.

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

If one download site is really slow, just cancel and try the others, go with the fastest.

Cheers
