can't find sound card

I had a major virus attack, so I formatted(need to anyways), and re-install ed windows XP. I have no sound, under multimedia audio control I have the yelloe !, i tried to install what I thought was the SIS drivers, can't it says that is already being used by another area, I d/l'ed dx 9c, installed, rebooted, same thing, bios motherboard is American mega trends 1.6gig system, I had no problem before, but now cant find the driver to install sound. Any information please would be very helpful.

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

Try this SiS driver from the ECS motherboard downloads http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Downloa...uID=35&LanID=0

Hope this helps
