Sound driver won't pass windows logo testing!

I recently wiped my hard drive and went to reinstall my sound driver but windows keeps telling me that it hasn't passed windows logo testing. I click install anyway and it shuts down my system. Can anyone help me??? Thanks.

HP don't offer a driver for the onboard audio for the Pavilion 752n, it's AD1885, but Intel do

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

Then go here to Intel http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...5&submit=Go%21

it's No:4 in the list

Hope this helps

So I downloaded the driver from the link and unzipped it. But now I don't know how to install it. I've tried every .exe file there is.

Forget the last post. I got the setup to run finally but after it installed all of the files it said "Driver not found. Reboot the system and try again."

After rebooting the install new hardware wizard came up to install new hardware but it couldn't find the right software for it.

Done some more digging, the audio is Realtek ALC202, go here to Realtek
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True

download the (Excution file) save to desktop, then double click to install
The site can be slow

Hope this helps

So I downloaded the driver from realtek and I still got the same logo testing message. I hit install anyway and rebooted my system. After the reboot windows attempted to install the hardware but my system shut down while attempting it.

Then go here to Intel http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21

download and install No:4 INF Update utilty ( this is the Chipset driver ) then RESTART your comp, then install the Realtek driver again

Hope this helps

Okay so I downloaded this new file and it installed fine, no warnings of any kind. So I restarted my system as it prompted me to do and after the restart my computer was on for two minutes or so and just shut off. Grrrr.

Can you check this for me

Check Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Audio Tab / Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio device is selected; something like modem line 0 playback might have been substituted for the proper audio device. Information by Jim Pivonka.

Hope this helps
