Audio Mixing Device??

I've been having audio related problems on my computer for the last week and when I tried to play anything file, it said 'Audio Hardware Missing' and then I downloaded a ESS driver for my sound card (ES1688 AudioDrive WDM) and now it says I don't have an audio mixing device and I tried searching all over google for one but I didn't find one that worked properly.
Please help me find an Audio Mixing Device that will work because I can't live without audio!! lol =P
