multimedia audio controller Prob

Just had to reinstall XP pro, ( other HD died so bought new one) have an onboard sound, a ASUSTeK P4C800 1.xx

Every time I use the Asustek cd which has the drivers on it tells me the an error occurred during the installation of the device
The data is InValid...grrrrrr.
In my bios Sound is set for auto
SoundMax. So yea just like a lot other ppl on here I have that yellow ! next to multimedia audio controller in device manager.
Is the sound on mother board messed-up? it was working even after the other HD died..

Also won't let me install driver for my Canon Camera so I can down load pics off it, says same thing data invalid at end of install.

is there any were I can get this Driver and fix my Probs maybe I had a bad Win Xp pro install and need to nuke my PC...

What error code do you get in DM?

Make a new file on your desktop -
go in to your CDROM Drive properties when using the driver CD for sound, drag all the files over in to your new file on your desktop. Try and install it that way.

If they install from the HDD, could be either a problem with the CD or your cdrom drive.

If you're still having problems, try and run windows updates to install the drivers automatically or do an internet search http://www.google.co.uk

Should be able to find the drivers for it.
