Cannot Find Sound drivers for Compaq Evo 510 Ultra-slim Desktop

Hi,

I am new to this forum and I am in need of urgent help.

I have a compaq desktop (model: EVO 510 ultra-slim)
and it is running on Windows XP professional.

I have misplaced the motherboard driver CD.

I went to the compaq website and tried to download the appropriate sound drivers from the following URL :

http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi...e/64_4493.html

but it directs me to an FTP site which Iam not able to connect to.

Please tell me from where should I download the driver and how to install it on my PC.

My computer details are:
Model: Compaq Evo 510 ultra-slim Desktop
OS: Windows XP Professional version 2002 service pack 2
Processor: Intel pentium 4 processor 2 GHz
Ram: 512 MB

Please Help me with this

Thanks,
Johny

I've managed to download these drivers to my Compaq Pc so you must be clicking on a link that is looking for an FTP server, the following link should take you to a screen that has a "Download" button
Click this, once you do, a box should open, giving you the option for run/open, save and cancel.

Save it to your desktop, once done, double click and then run the setup.
Hope this helps your problem.

Hi,

I was trying to download the drivers from the same url but cannot download as the page is not accessible to me. This might be because my computer is on a network thats protected by a firewall.

Is there any other way I can get those drivers (some other url or something) or can you mail it to me if you've downloaded them?

Johny

If you ring Compaq/ HP, they may be able to provide you the drivers on CD.

Audio Driver

if i have a compaq presario 061, i believe, and /or sr2023wm in which i have taken the old os off and replaced it with an xp upgrade!

which then i upgraded to service pak 2.

now i have no audio! it does not recognize the drivers. i went to the site in which to download driver and it said i have no driver.

is this the case where the technology (sound card, device) is newer then the xp?

should i turn computer off and unplug a sound card or something and then turn on and off to replace it in hopes the computer recognizes new hardware?

also with that website option from a different post i tried and i have no recognition that this is compaq computer or software, so i am unable to prompt anything with comp now.

the os is working fine. xp says no audion device detected. is this an xp software problem?

i did not build this computer. i just simply replced the os with an xp upgrade disc in which i then upgraded again to serv pak 2.

thanks my computer comrades!

Chck these out
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

That model SR2023WM has Realtek High Definition, go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click to install

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps
