No Sound with Dimension XPS Gen 2

Hello,
I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled Windows XP SP2. For whatever reason, I cannot get any sound. I have tried reinstalling sound drivers but that does not seem to work. The other problem is I do not know what sound card I have or what driver to install - tried everything but no luck.

I appreciate your help.
Thanks.

Please bookworm, help me!

I have been able to install the creative audigy 2 driver which took care of the Multimedia Audio Controller error in device manager. However, I still do not get any sound. Files play as they should, but no sound.
Earlier, I had installed Sound Blaster Audigy Advanced MB Demo, but that did not help. It also installed a mixer file. When I click on the mixer icon in my system tray, I get an empty pop up window with Mixer (Mxmgr.mxc) at the top, but nothing else. I've tried uninstalling it, but I get an error which asks me to debug - just goes nowhere.

I no longer have the error in device manager and the volume controls seem to work, but I don't get any sound at all.

Please help.
Thanks.

Solved my sound problems - was a matter of system settings - i think. Still have the error where mixer in system tray does not work and always starts when I reboot computer.
Any ideas on how to remove it. Attempted to uninstall from add/remove programs, but it errors out.
Thanks.

Assistance please

The latest update from Microsoft just blew out my audio (XPS Gen 2 w/Audigy 2 ZS). What did you do to get it to work again - details please?

Thanks,

Easy
