Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

everytime i reboot, my computer reverts to 256 (or 16?) colors, and i cant change it back under desktop > properties > settings. i have to reinstall the nvidia display drivers each time. why is my computer doing this? how do i fix it?

using: windows xp pro sp2
asus nvidia geforce 6200
display drivers from nvidia.com

Hi, how long have you been having this problem?

Try reseating your Pci card in to the motherboard to see if it helps.

When you reinstall your drivers, does everything appear OK? No errors? problems in device manager etc?

Obviously its not keeping the settings, when you load your PC after a reboot, can you check in device manager and make sure the drivers are OK?

Im new to all of this and im no whizz on computers.
I have been having a problem with my Video Controller. Everytime i load my computer up it says "found new hardware" but when i go to install it, the file says it can not install properly.

When i try to play dvd's now they are very slow and play in frames.

please can someone helpme as i have not got a clue what to do or where to start.
