Many a sound problem...
Hello, I'm new here and am having a serious problem with the sound on my computer, it's nearly defeated me.
Nearly.
I came here hoping for some help. My computer crashed about three years ago and a friend of mine fixed it for me. Shortly after that, my sound files were deleted. I'm pretty sure that's what happened, as I've looked for them, and the place where they should be is gone.
I purchased a sound card and installed it, still, nothing. I've been living with it for about two years, and I'm sick of it.
If you need anymore information, I'll be glad to provide it for you.

Can you provide some detail about the sound card you have purchased as well as more info on your computer (motherboard ) and operating system ??

Alright...
My OS is Windows XP.
My motherboard is a Micro ATX form factor(I'm getting this from the user guide to my motherboard) and the processor is an Intel Celeron (900MHz).
The sound card I installed is a Sound Blaster Audigy 24bit.

Can you check the model of your eMachine, can't find a 100 model, what country is it from, look over the tower and see if the model is shown anywhere on a sticker.

Yes I dealt with it for two years because I had other things going on in my life, and my computer wasn't top priority.
The sound card I got did include a driver disk, and after I installed everything, it still didn't work.

It's an eMachine T1090, it has onboard Audio/Modem sound and the driver is available to download, if you want to use the Sound card you will need to Disable onboard sound in the BIOS.
