I know this post was for Bookworm, but seeing as she isn't about, there's no information on your report regarding which motherboard you have?

What Gfx card do you have? On board? PCi /AGP?

More info please

EDIT: I just searched Acer website and found this, hope it's of some use to you:

Unhappy Problem

I am experiencing a problem with this driver i installed. My windows XP says its not compartible to it and may cause errors to the system. Also, when a playing games it suddenly freezes and i have to manually boot the computer. What might be the problem?

Hi Matt,

Hmmm....It's strange because it let you install the driver and it worked.

It can't be imcompatible or as I say, it wouldn't let you intall it.

Try and uninstall and reinstall again from that same website, if it's the same.

Got to start - Run - msconfig - start up (Usually top right hand corner)

Disable all items (Leaving in the essentials, i.e, Anti virus software)

Go to services (also on the top line of the system config utility) look at the bottom (Place a tick in hide all Ms Services (Disable the rest)

Click OK & Restart when prompted.

See if this helps.
