Lost Screen Resolution After Reformatting Win. XP

--- ok so this is my first post....the reason why i'm in this forum to begin with is because of this problem......i'm not very good with computers

-problem: i had my computer reformatted a couple months ago so i'm not sure if this will make a difference when trying to fix the issue....after having the comp. reformatted the screen resolution was dropped to 640 by 480 & i'm unable to set it any higher...so my screens out of wack and i've been dealing with half a screen for a while...which comes to the point of.... trying the driver scan thing and not even being able to scan the comp on certain scan's because of the lose the screen....anyway....i got the comp scanned and found out i'm missing a PCI Modem & Video Controller (VGA Compatiable)....anyway i'm assuming i need a video driver, but i'm not sure...can this problem b solved without having to buy a video card or what not......i'm not sure what system info. would be nessecarry to solve this problem...if theres anyone out there that can solve this issue i'm in help, if u need certain system info. let me know......anywayz any help would be most appriciated.....

What is the make and model of your computer, you should be able to get the drivers you need from them. Look for a label it should give that information and a serial number.

Hope this helps

hey i figured out my problem thx anyway....all i had to do was upgrade the driver online...it turned out it wasnt as hard as i thought, but it seems like the resolution is still off....on the 640 by 480 theres a half in of black screen on the, the only normal looking setting i can get is the 1024 by 768, but then theres still a half of inch of black screen at the top....idk wat to do....
