Toshiba Dynabook TX/3-series: Need Help Locating Sound, TouchPad and Hotkey Drivers.

Hello,

We recently installed a US version of Windows XP (original release) over the Japanese WinXp, which formatted the drive, including all necessary drivers. Since it was bought in Japan, Toshiba's US website has no information on our model laptop as it seemed to never release in the states. Also, no individual drivers on the back-up disc. Toshiba only provides a restore to factory setting, which includes all the original Japanese settings. So far we've managed to install an Intel WiFi Driver, which worked by some chance, but not perfectly as we sometimes have to turn on the firewall to get access.

Information:

Toshiba Dynabook TX/3514CDSTW
Celeron M 1.40Mhz, 1GB RAM, 52GB HDD

Need:
Drivers for sound, display devices (hotkey functions) and TouchPad.

When "Adding New Hardware" the missing drivers appear as follows:
"Video Controller", "Video Controller (VGA Compatible)", "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller", "PCI Modem", "Multimedia Audio Controller".

Unresolved.

Thank you very much.

Just a thought, restore to factory settings, then install Everest http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

this will list all drivers on the system, in Japanese , but manufactorer's will be listed and perhaps the motherboard, this will give clues to what is installed. From what I can find they are based on the Qosimo E10/F10/and G10 models, no drivers for the E10 but Toshiba do have drivers for the F10 and G10 models, try here http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.c...ivers_bios.jsp

The main driver is the Chipset

this is Toshiba Europe

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps

dynabook.com

I found the driver section for the dynabook series on the dynabook website. The above replies are correct about the drivers are similar to the Qoismo notebooks because the Dynabook website listed the qoismo. The below link is the drivers section for the dynabook. There is enough english to figure it out.
