I am having the same issue.

My computer runs XP

and has an NVidia chipset on the board. (Audio as well.)

However, I used my CD for my drivers that came with the mobo and it didnt work.

I downloaded the drivers from NVidia as they suggested, still no sound.

After I patched it, I did get an icon in my toolbar. However, I cannot get anything to play.

I can get more information by doing an msdiag32 when I get home from work.

Here is what I do know:

Manufacturer: NVidia
Model: AWRDACPI
System: X86-BASEPC

I have exclamations in my device manager. I have removed the devices, then reinstalled the driver cd. No dice.

I uninstalled the drivers, then patched with the NVidia patch. No dice.

When I use the stock driver disc it says that it is incompatible with windows XP... says something about passing some xp thing and that it may not work properly.

I used the scanning site to identify the drivers I am missing but it won't let me see which driver it is.

The audio is on the front and back and is all onboard. No PCI cards.

Can anyone PLEASE HELP?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!

im abit of a techno noob so any help is hugely appreciated

This is the link to drivers http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?f...=1&prod_no=577

audio is Via it's a zip file

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps
