Multimedia Video Controller:Vaio

Hello,

I have a Vaio VGC-RB42G running Windows XP Home. This is a new install of XP and I don't have any of the drivers. The one I'm needing most, and have looked the hardest for, is the Multimedia Video Controller.

I've also looked for the PCI Device driver and the SM Bus Controller driver

Is there anyone out there that can help me find this darn thing?

Thank you,

JB

That model came with window media centre edtion as standard..so they might not have made xp driver..but then again i am sure the mce xp drivers will work ,,heres the link..http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...ype=Everything

theres 2 listed vga drivers radeon x600 and intel vga driver get belarc to see what vga you have.
and the Intel® 915G/P/GV Chipset Driver near bottom of page as well

these driver should work as mce is windows xp . any other drivers you need just look on the list.

MCE vs Pro

The drivers are not working on XP. Still the same problem. Is it possible if I upgrade to Pro that it would be compatible enough?

I just wanted an answer before proceeding with some nonsense.

That you,

JB

not really, xp home and pro are virtually the same..so drivers for home would work on pro..your laptop was not designed for xp home or pro..they only made drivers for windows mce and vista. the only thing i can think of is contacting sony and ask if they do xp drivers,,i did think the mce drivers would have worked though.
