SATA Controller drivers for Sony VIAO VGN-NR110E needed

I purchased a Sony VIAO VGN-NR110E a week back, and have been unable to install Windows XP Pro as it tells me "Windows cannot find a hard disk." I'm assuming it is because this has a Hitachi 120GB SATA drive and SATA controller. I have to load the drivers for the controller, but am unable to find drivers on Sony's site or anywhere else.

I hope that someone will be able to help me as I truly hate Windows Vista. thanks in advance.

I think that I came across the same problem. In the system bios, there should be a setting that says AHCI mode or AHCI compatable. Disable this and it should find the hard drive. Also, keep this disabled because if you re-enable it after installing XP, it won't boot. It will load the windows XP logo and then reset.
Good Luck!

Unfortunately, I do not see that setting anywhere in the BIOS setting of my VGN-NR110E. I'm not sure why. Maybe a newer BIOS version, who knows. Thanks, though. I am still stuck with my original problem, though.
