Multimedia Audio Controller Help

Please help, I have no sound coming from my speakers. Device manager shows a yellow exclamation point and question mark beside multimedia audio controller. I'm not sure what information to provide, but:

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
2.20 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD MS-7125 1.0
Board: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO., LTD MS-7125 1.0

I have same problem, i reinstalled windows xp home edition, and wiped the drivers for my sound card! now it has a yellow mark next to Multimedia audio controller! i go to update driver and it says the driver could not be found! can anyone give me a download for this driver? Please helpppppppp!

I think there is an activex control that will scan your motherboard to recomnmend the drivers you need.

Thanks for the reply, but this tool did not fix my problem? any other ideas? will i just need to buy a PCI sound card?

I have found out what driver i need, it is (STAC9750T) does any1 know where i can download this from for free?

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
