Unhappy No Sound Please Help

OMG I have tried everything. A couple of months ago i reformatted my computer and reinstalled windows Xp home. I have not had sound since. I have tried downloading several drivers and everything is not successful. I have tried help from both my computer and sound-card manufactureer and am pretty much ready to give up. I have had people take over my computer and try to install thing, i have tried doing it on my own. nothing works. I've tried to download a realtek c'94 driver and my computer kept shutting of on me at the end of the installation. when i opened up the computer, everytime it reset itself a red light would light up on teh motherboard. I tried downloading everything in safe mode also and had the same reults. I finally managed to get the realtek to download, but then my computer would restart itself everytime i turned it on. so i disabled it and eventually removed it from my computer all together. When i open up my one music program, samsung media studio it says errore code 8 no sound driver installed. When i try WMP it says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." Me and My IT teacher are stumped we have tried just about everything.i was wondering if there is anything at all i can do? If anyone needs anymore information that i didn't think of, theres probly more. Please help! Thanks in advance

Can you post an Everest report, that model should have an Intel board, not Foxconn and could have either Realtek or Soundmax audio
http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

Are your audio plugs on the I/O plate or in a expansion slot, see here, click image to focus

No Sound Plese Help II

My Audio plugs are on an I/O plate, and i ran the everest program and it gave me a very long report, I can't post it on here, there is not enough characters in this and i do not see an atachment icon, so if you need it in someother way i saved it.

Try this:
Go to control panel and then click on system. From there go to hardware and device mager.Look for your soundcard and update the driver.Highlight the bubble that says "install from a list or specific location" then click on "Don't search I will choose the driver to install".On the next page should be some drivers for your sound card.If theres more than one then try all of them.
This fixed my problem so I hope it fixes yours.

Open Everest - expand Computer - select Summary - select Report on menu bar at top - Quick Report - HTML . The report opens, using mouse hold the left button and starting at all above Debug-PCI - highlight all the text - when highlighted right lick mouse - select Copy.
Then just paste into the thread

These are the drivers from Intel, they show Realtek AC'97 as the audio, but Everest is showing ADI, which is the Soundmax driver
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filt...4&submit=Go%21

from Intel install No:6 the Intel chipset - then restart your comp.
As you have tried the Realtek driver with no success try this soundmax driver from here http://www.e4allupgraders.info/dir1/...ownloads.shtml

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Look at this it's an Abit board but will give some idea, click image to focus
