Sound Driver for a Compaq Presario C700 Windows XP

I just downgrade a Compaq Presario C700 Notebook from Windows Vista to Windows XP, and I just can`t get the Sound to work

Can anyone Please tell me what to do, what or where can I find the Controller, Driver that I need for.

There are 6 different model of C700.....you can tell which one you have by looking under your laptop...then go to this site and download the proper one for you:

I have ALTEC LANSING modal of compac Presario C700. Can you please help me out in downloading audio driver for xp windows.

several models get Belarc, copy and paste the report but leave out the win update section and the Software Licence section it gives your Win Product code

HP offer no driver for XP, so can't be sure this will work

look at System Requirements you need the M$ UAA installed first SP32646

check if installed
Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
System Devices / Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture should be installed


Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Smile windows xp on compaq presario c700 sound

hi all i was haveing the same problem with mine after instaling xp i had no sound so i went looking and found some one that know what he was talking about on the net and i now have sound on my windows xp if you need help contact me

or look for Conexant_HD_Audio_27320D_XP it has everything you need in it after installing it will come up with new hardware found and so on i then backed up my drivers with DriverMax Pro 5.0 so i dont have that problem again Driver max pro can be found here http://www.phazeddl.com click on apps and do a search hope this helps you if you have any questions fell free to contact me at traceyanddavid3@bigpond.com

There's a process to force Windows XP use the driver and to get audio device working on C700; everthing works perfec on my Presario C700.

bookworm please help ! i just made an account here because i see you helped people.
i accidentally deleted my sound too ! my speakers arent the problem i guess i deleted all my sound off my computer
i got a emachines T3990 computer. windows xp
how can i get mi sound back ?

click Downloads
