What driver do I need?

I've looked at Belarc to give me an idea of what driver I may need though, am unsure by the info given. I'm unsure of where to go from here. I've tried the Realtek ac97 driver and some CMedia ones, but unsuccessful. I still have no sound

Operating System
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)

System Model
Enclosure Type: Desktop

Processor
3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium 4
16 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache

Main Circuit Board
Board: Springdale
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 03/01/2004

Thanks for any help given.

I opened the case and looked at the board:

Albatron PX865PE Pro

And there is a small chip (asumming sound chip with a recognisable crab type logo on it)

Still search the problem

The crab is Realtek audio and these are drivers from Albatron
http://www.albatron.com.tw/English/P...k=Driver&no=54

check these out

Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Audio tab / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

did you get the driver from realtek ?

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

you may need to check if audio is [Enabled] in the BIOS, if you need help just post back.
