Format + Re-install XP = No sound

Hey guys / gals .

Well had a virus on the system so i had no option but to format, re-install XP, now im left with no bloomin sound !.

computer can see the speakers, and registers it, got latest driver on too.

downloaded several diffrenet drivers from soundmax * first compatible one didn't work so i went one to try others *

Also tried, Sound Blaster 24-bit live!

This is the driver from Creative http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...ct=1&x=28&y=12

NO:1 is for Vista & XP complete package No:2 is for XP & 2000 but you will need to install No:9 Basic Audio Suite

one other point, your comp has onboard audio, this may need to be disabled in the BIOS so you can use Sound Blaster

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
