pci driver in window 98

pci driver in window 98

I have reintalled window 98, and on the system management indicated with ? mark next to PCI multimedia audia device, and I have no sound.
what do I need, a driver , controller , or something else, and where do I find the info of the PCI device to download the driver and from where. Thank you.

I went there and of no help, in the mean while I found the cd for pci driver(SC3000), but it want my win98 se disk, for file , and when I inserted the disc, it won't recognize it, it's the same disc I installed the os, what do I do now? I am an idiot in this!

The link I gave was a download. It identifies hardware down to the chip level.

To ask for the disk when the correct one is inserted usually means on XP at least, the drive letter of the CD was changed. You have to edit the registry to correct it, or give the cd drive the letter that is being asked for.

What is the exact error message?
