Missing audio driver

I was having a problem with my audio driver that when i played a sound it would stop immediately unless i was playing a game and EAX was enabled and it would still not play correctly. I uninstalled my driver and was going to reinstall it. i believe it was something like SoundMAX Integrated HD Audio. After i uninstalled, i could not reinstall it! The system said that there were no audio devices detected, but it gave me a New Hardware Device > Audio High Definition Driver Detected or something like that. When i try to install it using that, it won't find the driver or if i download manually it says i am not compatible. HELP!
I am using Windows XP Home Edition PPP (SP3)
I am running an custom made computer with an ASUS Motherboard
The only audio information i have is:
-PCI / PnP Audio > Analog Devices AD1988B @ nVIDIA nForce 590 SLI (MCP55PXE) - High Definition Audio Controller PCI
MCI:
-AVIVideo
-CDAudio
-MPEGVideo
-Sequencer
WaveAudio

Cool Fixed

Sorry, but you took too long to respond and so I just wiped the audio drivers and reinstalled them. Thanks anyway
