Exclamation need help URGENT!! presario desktop sound problem
ok i've been researching this for about a week now n cant find nothing.... i reformatted my computer n now have no audio device.....your page seems like it might be helpful so.... right now all i can hear is a beep coming from the tower itself whenever i reveice an IM lol....i found the link to the belarc advisor please review the following and if possible provide me with a link to where i can download the driver needed so i once again have audio

Your audio plugs must be on the I/O plate for this driver to work, if you use an expansion slot then you have a Sound Card installed, see here, click the image to focus

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start/ All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a
Restore point and follow instructions

hey i tried that... i downloaded the exe file, launched it, restarted n still no audio device.. any other ideas???

check this to see if Realtek is default audio

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on
down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

every drop down menu under the audio tab is grayed out including the sound playback tab.... it simply says no playback device, same goes with the 2 tabs under it (sound recording & MIDI playback)

disk contented i dont believe that link works, do u possibly have another one? in the mean time i'll try finding a similar driver, this issue with my audio device has been driving me crazy!! any help is greatly appreciated

Step 7 - check to to if audio is enabled in the BIOS

I'm looking for this same-fashion driver, but the 2002 version. I don't have the service pack installed. Is there a site that would still have it? I've done my own bit of searching and can't locate any driver under 2003.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think your driver is at MajorGeeks.I usually don't find drivers at MajorGeeks but,give it a try.

Computer won't accept it.
It's now telling me that the computer is too outdated for the download. That I need service pack 2 for your first link, and service pack 1 for the second.

I appreciate the help, but it seems we're both hitting the same problem. I can find the file, but too new a version of it.
