No Sound help (ATI SB450 AC'97audio controller)
Hey
I have a gateway MX6424, and i just recently reformated it and now the sound won't work. in the device manager it says that its missing the ATI SB450 AC'97audio controller. Can anyone help please.

Same problem, i have a Packard Bell Istart 1369, Multimedia Audio Controller driver is non-existant been on real-tek and packard bell sites installed drivers but no joy

but check this
Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
System Devices / Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture should be installed

you need this patch to be installed before you install the Realtek audio driver, go here to HP the driver is supplied by Microsoft

install - then Restart your comp

then install Realtek audio

Set a System Restore Point before installing Each driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions
