Sound Drivers not runnning even if properly installed

Hi ,

I hav a pentium 2.67 GHz Pc with intel 845 GVSR motherboard with onboard sound card realtek AC97.

I used my pc after long hiatus.

It says error "Bad DirectSound Driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration.
Error code: 88780078 " when playing any sound.

I installed drivers again it successfully got installed.
But again same error when i play any audio.

In Device Manager all audio devices are installed and running properly.
But when i go to COntrol Panel-->Sound And Audio Devices--Volume tab
It says No audio device.

Some person said that may be your realtek sound card IC burnt away.

So i bought a new sound card of intex and installed on PCI slot and installed drivers.
Everything successful again but still it gives error "Bad DirectSound Driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration.
Error code: 88780078 "

Besides these things i show a virus trojan horse back door in some of C;\ drive folders like system 32 drivers folder...is it due to this..

or some hardware problem..

I am getting discouraged due to this problem since last 4-5 days.

Please help if anyone knows this.

Thanks pecker but i have drivers and already installed number of times.
There is some other thing which i m missing
Realtek AC 97 i have.
I dont know about DirectX 9.0c.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
