Sound Problems With Gateway MX6027

Sound Problems With Gateway MX6027

After reinstalling xp home i had no sound at all. i got the sound to work but in windows media player the sound enhancements don't work (srs wow effects, equalizer, quiet mode) . i have the ac 97 audio controller installed. please help.

check this out

Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) from the tree / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply / click Start > OK Reboot

Sound MX6027

Just got a gateway MX6027 and reformatted it and lost the sound. i took the usual steps with no results. Then i can across someone that told me Gateway shipped some of these Mx6027 with the wrong parts and to download sound drivers for M360 and my sound fired right up. Hope this helps.
