nVidia Graphic Driver not installing(?)

Hello
I had my brother go through and uninstall a bunch of programs i didn't need yesterday. One of the things he uninstalled was the "nVidia Drivers," as it appeared on the Add / Remove Programs list. He did this because I had random lines appearing on various things like Icons, Pictures, Web Browsers, etc. and it was really annoying. He was going to reinstall the nVidia driver but after running the installation, it said the system was unmodified, and there appeared to be no effect. However, nVidia driver came back to the Add / Remove Programs list...

My internet browser is slow and glitchy when scrolling but there are no more lines. In the Device Manager, it says that there is an exclamation point inside a yellow triangle next the VGA Controller and when i start up windows a pop-up from the task bar saying New Hardware Found (or something like that), but when i run it, i says there was incorrect parameters...

*EDIT* the nVidia driver i'm trying to install is for the nVidia GeForce 6200 and the installer is 182.50... i hope thats relevant :P

Look at this at the Nvidia forum, the 182.50 seems to be causeing lots of problems, and suggestion is to use an older driver, look at Thothie's post
