Much like everyone else, I've got no sound.... Help!
Hi guys,
A recent computer of mine bit the dust and I was forced to switch to a different computer that my parents had kindly donated to me. And it works great, apart from the fact that the sound doesn't work. I'm not getting any errors coming up when I try to play music and my speakers were working fine so it seems to be another issue than just the wrong driver being installed.
The only conflict that I can find in the device manager is a PCI Simple Communications Controller, which is - according to other random forums - usually for modems. This has got me completely stumped- the audio device which is listed in device manager is a C-media AC97 Audio device and seems to be working fine apart from the fact that IT AIN'T PRODUCING ANY SOUND!
Anyway, here's my system specs, please, please help if you can because this is starting to drive me batshit!
