Big Yellow question mark beside the Multimedia Audio Controller NEC model VC667J3XD

Hi, My computer is NEC model:VC667J3XD. It's a Windows 98' Second Edition and we upgraded it to Windows XP Professional Service Pack 1. Now the Problem is there is no "sound". It has a Big Yellow question mark beside the Multimedia Audio Controller. Please HELP me.
