hi.. i have this problem with my PC.. when i reinstall my windows xp... sound goes.. i get sound for just fraction of the second.. when i play some mp3 .. it plays for 1 second.. thats it...
by default i get ths 'intel 82801ba/bam ac'97 audio' driver installed when i reinstall my XP... i also have ths CD which i got with the motherboard.. when i install the drivers provided in that CD.. i get Avance AC97 audio status under device manager.. but of no use... no sound yet...
then i tried to install the latest Realtek Ac97 drivers 4.01... now i get sound but it is broken... then i went to Mercury website and downloaded there drivers (

please please please help me....
