Realtek Sound problem
Hi everyone.
1 month ago, I had my integrated Realtek audio device working with the Realtek control panel(which i really liked). 2 weeks ago, I plugged in an old sound card, just to use the game port. Everything worked fine for a week. Then I came back from week end, and everything from Realtek was gone... No more driver, no more control panel, as if someone came to my house and deleted everything.
I installed probably a thousand realtek drivers trying to fix the problem, but none of the worked. Now I'm stuck with the old sound card with bad sound and no mic control. Here's my system infos.

when you install a sound card the onboard sound is Disabled in the BIOS, you need to go into the BIOS and enable the onboard sound
remove the sound card from your comp and uninstall al drivers - then enable the onboard sound
as soon as comp boots press the <Del> key the Main menu opens
use the right arrow key to select the Advanced menu
use the down arrow to select Onboard Devices Configuration - press Enter key
HD Audio Controller should show [Enabled]
if [Disabled]
use down arrow key to select
+ key to change to [Enabled]
F10 key to Save & Exit
XP will load
install audio driver from Asus
http://support.asus.com.tw/download/...Language=en-us
Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

go back to Asus and install the Chipset - then RESTART your comp - install Realtek audio again
Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Ok, I tried that, but it didn't work. I got an error when I tried to instal the chipset. I reboot my computer, then it installed itself(I think). So I installed the realtek driver, which installed normally. But when I went to the see if it was installed, the software was, but the driver wasn't. So I installed my driver manually, and when the progress bar was at the end, the computer reboot. Result: no driver installed. Any ideas ?

I'm presuming you have removed the sound card.
check Device Manager / System Devices / is the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture or the Microsoft UAA installed ?
